Peas and Corn = Easy and Tasty!

This is a wonderful side that really fits with everything! It’s super easy, quick and surprisingly good!

Choosing a side is never easy! Have you ever been in that situation where you have that wonderful piece of stake perfectly cooked on the plate, but you don’t know what to eat with it. Well that was me when I decided to cook peas with corn. Although I was not a great fan of both the ingredients, their mix was absolutely amazing!

Here you can find how to do it:

Ingredients for 1 person:

  • 100g of peas;
  • 50g of corn;
  • 1/3 of an Onion;
  • Salt;
  • 1 Spoon of Oil;
  • Parsley

Process:

The procedure of this recipe it’s quite easy and straightforward. First step is to cut the onions is pieces, not too small as you still want to feel it’s consistency at the end.

After you cut it, pour it in a pan with the oil and cook it gently for 2 minutes. Don’t let it roast too much as in this kind of recipe you want the onion to maintain its sweetness.

The second step depends on the ingredient you are using: frozen peas or tinned ones.

In case you are using frozen peas let them cook with the onions for 10 minutes before adding the corn.

In case you are using the tinned ones let them cook for 2 minutes before adding the corn.

When it’s all together on the pan leave then on a medium flame for two minutes. Remember to stir it so that the different taste to mix together and don’t cook it too much, you want the corn to keep its consistency.

Finally here you are with your plate of corn and peas. The colors of it are as good as the taste: the peas are mashy and the corn distinguish himself in a sweet mix that will fit with every meal!

This time I decided to add it to my famous beer-burger.
